Our Faith
In a world where so much is fluid and uncertain it is vital to have, as Jesus once put it, a sure foundation upon which to build life(Matthew 7:24-29). We choose to build upon the solid foundation of God's infallible, inerrant and unchanging Word for our faith and everyday practice. It's declaration of who we are as male and female human beings created in God's image (Genesis 1,2); as sinful individuals in need of a Savior(Romans 3:23); and as responsible for an accounting of life before God (Romans 14:12; Hebrews 4:13) are foundational to an understanding of the very nature of our lives and purpose in this world. That God's love for the world resulted in the provision of the one and only Savior(John 3:16; 1 John 4:9,10,14); that Jesus' death, burial and resurrection comprise the Good News of salvation(1 Corinthians 15:1-3); that faith alone in Christ alone is the only means of securing salvation and eternal life (John 10; 14:6; Romans 5:1; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:1-9); that those redeemed by the blood of Jesus(1 Peter 1:18,19) are blessed with the indwelling presence of God's Holy Spirit as teacher and seal of redemption (John 14-16; Ephesians 1:14; 4:30); that Jesus will one day return to take away His Church before the onset of God's judgment of this world(John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-17; 5:9); that the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus will set up the literal reign of 1000 years and be followed by the Great White Throne judgment of all who were never saved by faith through grace(Revelation 20); that those who were made righteous by Jesus Christ will enter into the eternal kingdom of God in heaven and those who rejected His righteousness will spend an eternity
in everlasting torment(Revelation 21:8).
